妊娠・授乳期に必要な食事量
妊娠期は胎児に栄養を送るため、また授乳期は母乳を子猫に与えるため、
いずれも普段よりも多くのエネルギー量を必要とします。

妊娠・授乳期の食事のポイントは、
「高カロリー・高脂質・消化のよい原材料」です。
この時期は、胎児・子猫の成長と発達に必要な必須アミノ酸を供給するため、
タンパク質合成量が大きく増加します。
そのため、フードのタンパク質の質と量が肝心です。
また、エネルギーを多く必要とするため、
脂質18%以上のフードを選択する必要があります。
そしてフードと同様に重要なのが水分。
妊娠・授乳期の水分は羊水や母乳の生成にとても大切です。
新鮮なお水をいつでも飲むことができるよう、
下記のような工夫をしてあげましょう。
- 水分を多く含むウェットフードを使う
- フードをぬるま湯やミルクでふやかして与える
- 食事回数を増やしてあげる
- 水道水のカルキ臭を取り除く（一度お湯を沸かす）
- こまめに飲み水を交換する
- 水にまたたびを少量混ぜる
- 好みの材質の器を使用する
- ひげが当たりにくい器を利用
- 水飲み場の場所を変更する
